The exhibit follows a team of designers as they learned about interim housing through a series of site visits and experiences. Inspired by these site visits with community members, fabricators and operators the designers began to understand the interim housing landscape and use design as a way to positively impact thousands in Los Angeles. This work led to the Dome Sleep Pod presented here in hopes of facilitating better living environments for those experiencing interim housing.
DOME’s website explains the full concept for sleep pods. ABC7 covered the exhibition here. CBS/KCAL also covered the exhibition. Art Rabbit provided exhibition visitation information. Architect’s Newspaper shared a full article about the concept and gave details for where to view the exhibition. Dezeen shared details about the sleep pod concept with multiple diagrams.
