The Arroyo Bridge project demonstrates that advanced technologies in computation and robotics can be appropriated for unconventional purposes, at a relatively low entry point. During the design and construction of the bridge, young architecture graduates with limited experience learned to use design software to program robots and manufacture a unique product. Arroyo bridge successfully demystifies the use of nuanced tools for architectural design and fabrication, but it also pays tribute to the craftsmanship of traditional building methods and builders.
