Bug In My Software
By Alina Nazmeeva
“Bug in My Software” draws a line from engineered lifecycle and DNA of silkmoth to the womxn-dominated textile labor and gendered biases embedded in AI development. Here, the silkmoth – simultaneously organic, engineered and mechanized for silk production creature – is a proxy to examine the relationship between gender, labor, human and non-human intelligence. Combining textile installation with XR and screen-based speculative ecosystem simulation, the work invites you to embed yourselves: find a position, feel the ground, envelop in the landscape, contemplate, cuddle, and rest, while creatures work, threads weave, and GPU fans spin.
