WHAT MATTERS is an international symposium for professionals, academics, and students of graphic, product and architectural design is a tri-annual event co-hosted by Otis College of Art and Design and : OUTPUT Foundation, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The inquiry of each WHAT MATTERS shifts and changes relative to the content, contact and interaction among invited speakers and participants. This event asks us to consider current and critical theories in the education and practice of architecture and design. Prompts are exchanged and themes emerge as the day progresses and shared interests are realized.

: output is the largest international competition for students of visual communication and architecture. This year’s judging will take place on the campus of Otis and winning entries for output will be on view at the WHAT MATTERS symposium.
Founded in 1918, Otis College of Art and Design prepares diverse students of art and design to enrich our world through their creativity, their skill, and their vision. The College offers an interdisciplinary education for 1,200+ full-time students, awarding BFA degrees in advertising, architecture/landscape/interiors, digital media, fashion design, graphic design, illustration, product design, painting, photography, sculpture/new genres, and toy design; and MFA degrees in fine arts, graphic design, public practice, and writing. Continuing Education offers certificate programs as well as personal and professional development courses.

Architizer, in partnership with Haworth, Dwell Magazine, LA Forum, SCI-Arc, and BLDG BLOG, will be celebrating the Architizer Los Angeles launch at A+D. The event will be an evening to meet fellow Los Angeleno architects as well as a celebration of Los Angeles architecture culture.

Urban Hikes: Forgotten LA is a unique series of tours devoted to the exploration and celebration of sometimes forgotten parts of Los Angeles. URBAN HIKES provides a unique and enriching view into neighborhoods such as Little Tokyo, Leimert Park, MacArthur Park, Korea Town, the Downtown Historic Core, Boyle Heights and many more. A third generation L.A. native, Mike graduated from UCLA in 1997. His book I AM ALIVE IN LOS ANGELES! has been added to the curriculum of several universities and receives rave reviews.
