Gary J. Schefsky, is the General Partner of New Luna Ventures LP, a private equity fund focused on investment in high-performance development projects in west coast, urban locations.  Mr. Schefsky has more than 15 years experience in private equity, real estate, portfolio management, entrepreneurial strategic advisory services, and finance.  In 2000, he assumed management responsibility for a diversified real estate portfolio, with duties including partner succession, portfolio administration, asset hold/sell strategy, dispositions, and oversight of retail leasing, legal, and accounting.

Mr. Schefsky's entrepreneurial real estate efforts have included concept creation, financial model development, and co-developer partnering of mixed-use and adaptive re-use projects in urban downtowns.  He was instrumental in formation of a joint venture to redevelop a historic 140,000 sq. ft. downtown San Francisco landmark office building into a mixed-use project.  In 1991, he founded Euro Worldwide Investments, Inc. (EWI), a financial advisory firm assisting cross-border, venture-backed, start-up companies with U.S. market entry.

Mr. Schefsky holds a juris eoctorate, 1986, and LL.M. in Transnational International Law, 1991, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and a B.A., with high honors, in Political Science, 1983, from the University of California, Davis. Mr. Schefsky was a past member of the board of trustees of San Francisco Botanical Gardens at Strybing Arboretum in Golden Gate Park, where he served on the Executive Committee and Chair of the Strategic Directions Committee.  He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and USGBC, including serving on the Finance Committee of the San Francisco chapter of the USGBC.
