Joseph Hart practices as the law offices of Donaldson & Hart, in Los Angeles, California.  He represents numerous independent filmmakers, including writers, directors and producers, helping them with deals with producers, distributors, sales agents and financing entities.  His practice also includes intellectual property litigation in the motion picture, television and music industries.  He has handled numerous profit participation and accounting cases, primarily on behalf of profit participants and royalty recipients.

Joseph lectures and writes on copyright, right of publicity, and profit participation matters. He advises  non-profit organizations, and has served as president of the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles.
