Park[ing] Day LA 2008 hits the streets of Los Angeles on Friday, September 19, 2008 as artists, designers and activists throughout the city step up to the curb, put a quarter in the meter, and transform curbside metered parking spots into temporary public parks. Join us in engaging our community in a dialogue about public parks and open space, how it is allocated, how much urban open space we need and how our streets are currently used. You can even create your own park in a parking space near you!
