On Saturday, January 14th, we hosted Celebrate, our annual gala. This year’s event paid tribute to our new home in Arts District and reflected the creative energy and transition we are witnessing in Downtown Los Angeles.
You cannot step in the same river twice, and January 2017 is a time in DTLA’s history that will not come again. There is an unprecedented influx of youthful, creative, and entrepreneurial energy. The neighborhood’s culture is evolving its way into an uncertain future. By participating in Celebrate: DTLA, you helped to create that future and to honor this unique and exquisite moment.
Celebrate: DTLA included a Downtown-themed silent auction, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the A+D Museum. DJs spun, complimentary drinks were poured, and hors d’ouvres were served. Movers, shakers, and luminaries were there, representing all quarters of LA’s architecture and design industries and communities.
For more than fifteen years, the A+D Museum has been a sanctuary for exhibitions, events, and discussion of progressive architecture and design. We have lofty goals for 2017, including partnerships, pop-ups, on-site and off-site events, and initiatives to galvanize new architects and designers while preserving the traditions that make the world fascinated by Southern California.
We can’t do it without you. The proceeds from Celebrate: DTLA are an essential source of the revenue that makes it all happen. One of the best ways to support the museum is to attend next year’s party.
On Saturday, January 14th, Celebrate: DTLA was be the center of gravity for Los Angeles architecture and design. Thank you for being a part of it.
